Now that James Simons guy has an interesting story. He is a quant now, but many years ago he used to be a discretionary global macro trader. That was back in the 1970’s. Eventually he decided to model the data and made the shift from the macro world to entering the quant world. How do I know this? Well you can read the interview he did with Absolute Return magazine right here: James Simons | AR Absolute Return
There are also many other interviews in that Traders Hall of Fame including Paul Tudor Jones, Bruce Kovner, Louis Bacon, George Soros and many more! It is sort of like a mini market wizards interview. Check them out!
